Project Spotlight: REACH – Remote access technologies for hazardous environments
REACH is a versatile system developed for long-range mapping, data collection and tool deployment. It is a modular robotic manipulator, allowing tools and sensors to be deployed in hard-to-reach, contaminated areas which are not possible to access in person.
Skera – This is a remote cutting and dismantling tool for hazardous environments. It is a small-scale version of equipment commonly found in offshore and construction industries. Designed for remote deployment, it uses a diamond wire cutting technique combined with powerful grippers for cutting and dismantling objects within decommissioning areas.
